This nurse couldn't vote.
100 years ago, Isabel Hampton Robb was elected first President of the American Nurses
Association. But she was a woman. And women weren't allowed to vote for president in this
country.
You can.
Things are differenttoday.
You can make nursing's presence known and
encourage better healthcare policy.
It's time to make our opinions count.
ANA's RN VOTER
National Voter
Registration Drive

registration drive being launched during the American Nurses Association's Centennial. We are

who care about the issues that affect our health, our profession, and our lives.

of the American Nurses Association and became ANA's first president. However, she was a
woman, and therefore not allowed to vote for President of the United States. Today, both men
and women in nursing count, but all our voices cannot be heard unless we are registered to vote.
At this site, you'll find these resources:

professional nursing's voice heard louder than ever. Thank you.
