How to Download a File
Step 1. Click on the file name.
- A dialog box may pop up and ask you "What do you want to do with this file?" (It may also warn you of a security hazard, which you can ignore.) Select "Save it to disk." You can then choose a location on your computer's hard drive to save the file.
- Or, some newer browsers may automatically begin to download the file, and then open it in the appropriate program.
Step 2. After saving (downloading) the file to your computer, you can then open the file with the appropriate program, such as Microsoft Word. If your word processing program is different from the program used to create the downloaded files, take the appropriate steps to convert the file.
NOTE: The larger the file size, the longer it will take the file to download.
