Information and Nominations
After earning a master of arts degree in teaching biological sciences from Teachers College,
Columbia University, Frances Reiter later became a professor at the college. She left Teachers
College in 1960 to become the first dean of the Graduate School of Nursing, New York, Medical
College. She retired as dean emeritus in 1969. Reiter coined the term "nurse clinician" and
advocated the need for advanced preparation for nurse clinicians. |
