Nurse’s Career Center, the official online job bank of the American Nurses Association will launch several exciting new features for job seekers that will improve job search efficiency and quality with state-of-the-art tools and technology. All features are free to job seekers and very easy to use with simple instructions and templates. New design and improved ease of use You will notice that the site has a new site design and is easier to use. The registration process has been streamlined, allowing job seekers to register quickly and easily with minimal information. The Job Search and Conference Connection TM features have also been streamlined and will be more intuitive to the user. New Résumé Builder In addition to the new site design, there will also be a new Résumé Builder that will allow job seekers to create and design a personalized professional résumé or upload an existing professional résumé in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format. Uploaded résumés will maintain their previous formatting, saving job seekers time and increasing efficiency. The job seeker who chooses to create a new résumé through the Résumé Builder will have access to a variety of design and formatting options, including the ability to customize fonts and color schemes. The Résumé Builder provides recommended sections to be included in a professional résumé, but allows the job seeker flexibility to select the specific sections they wish to include, reorder sections, and add information to the established template for each section. Additionally, job seekers will now have the flexibility to save multiple résumés, choose which versions to make searchable by employers, and which versions to post to their personal Web site. “My Site” personal career Web site Perhaps the most exciting enhancement, the new “My Site” feature, will allow job seekers to build a personalized, password protected Web site with a unique URL that they can provide to anyone they wish, including potential employers. Job seekers can create a home page for their site and will have the option to upload a personal photograph or other image of their choice to the page. A Site Materials section will allow them to upload or link to articles they have written or published. References can be entered on the site and job seekers can post their résumé on their site as well. Finally, job seekers will have the option of branding their site to indicate that they are a member of American Nurses Association.
