The American Radiological Nurses Association and ANA Co-publish First Radiology Nursing Standards

Silver Spring, MD - Technological advances and organizational changes continue to expand the role of the radiology nurse to meet the demands of patient care and safety. Radiology nurses diagnose and treat the full range of human responses within their practice settings, scope of licensure, and available resources. Much as surgical patients receive nursing intervention early in their hospital stays, patients in the care of the radiology department require attention and care of the radiology nurse from the time a test or procedure is requested until the patient is discharged.

Radiology Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice articulates the essentials of this nursing specialty, its activities and accountabilities - the who, what, when, where, and how of practice, at all practice levels and settings. It is a core resource for nurses practicing in this area.

While this publication is primarily for practicing nurses, it is also an essential resource for others in related healthcare work. 2006/39 pp.
