"Nurses Care for America"
Nurses Week Press Event
On May 7th, 120 students from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing joined ANA President Mary Foley, MS, RN, Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), Senator Tim Hutchinson (R-AR), and Representative John Dingell (D-MI) for a press conference in front of the U.S. Capitol calling on Members of Congress to pass the Nurse Reinvestment Act and send it to President Bush for signature. After the press conference, the students delivered first aid kits to the offices of key Members of Congress with the same message: Pass the Nurse Reinvestment Act! The event was organized by the American Nurses Association and was used to highlight National Nurses Week.
